Michael (“Mike”) Miller brings more than 38 years of experience representing clients in all manner of legal disputes, whether complex, high-stakes, or both. Over the course of his career, Mike has handled and tried cases to verdict involving oil and gas, rig and pipeline liability, contractors, construction defects, premises liability, products liability, employment and labor matters, hospitality, OSHA, dram shop liability, transportation, business and insurance liability, and catastrophic personal-injury litigation.
Mike has tried both plaintiff and defense cases to verdict in federal, state, and administrative courts throughout Texas. He was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1986 and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, and Western Districts of Texas, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
Recognized by his peers with Martindale-Hubbell’s AV Preeminent rating, Mike is a member of the Dallas Bar Association and the State Bar of Texas. He earned his Juris Doctor from Texas Tech University School of Law in 1985 and his Bachelor of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University in 1980.
A native of Chicago, Illinois, Mike has been married for 42 years and has three adult children.
Mike considers himself blessed beyond measure to have worked with remarkable people and their companies throughout his career. He has had the privilege of representing businesses at every stage of growth—from companies with fewer than 28 employees that expanded to more than 1,200 employees, to a hospitality client that grew from three hotels to more than 1,600 hotels. Along the way, he has worked with thousands of other clients whose challenges, accomplishments, and successes remain among the most meaningful memories of his professional life.
Early in his career, a much older attorney told Mike how quickly time passes in the practice of law. He did not fully believe it then, but he certainly does now.
“It has been an absolute pleasure and honor to work alongside our clients as they navigate their businesses and their lives through legally challenging—and often extraordinary—times. There is nothing quite like living and working in North Texas, raising a family here, and building a law firm alongside the wonderful people. I still enjoy what I do, with whom I work, and tackling challenges every day!”
